“Bob has done a fantastic job of protecting our IP. He covers all the bases while managing costs and get results quickly. He is highly recommended!”
“For upwards of 20 years I’ve relied on Bob Harter to handle all of my patent related needs. Bob has provided expert consultation to me on everything from far-fetched ideas to international patents and has become a trusted friend. I have already recommended Bob to several acquaintances seeking patent assistance and would highly recommend his services to anyone.”
“I have worked with Bob for over ten years on patents for our automation products. Bob has an exceptional understanding of the patent process and the skills to turn technical ideas into patents. Currently we have been granted 10 patents on our products as a direct result of Bob’s hard work and technical abilities. Bob is prompt, resourceful and a genuine pleasure to work with.
Previously, I had worked with several patent attorneys who were much more expensive but did not deliver anywhere near the results that Bob has provided to us. His ability to understand complex ideas and suggest patent claims based on them has been a tremendous asset to us.
The fact that Bob does all his work personally allows him to totally focus entirely on patents instead of handing work off to employees. It is a pleasure to recommend Bob Harter to anyone wishing to protect an invention with a patent.
He is the best I have ever worked with in my 40 plus years in business.”
“Before I started working with Bob on patent applications I was repeatedly told by others how time consuming, costly and uncertain the patent application process was.
After I started working with Bob, I realized that with the right partner, getting your patent application ready and then your patent granted was actually a very affordable, reasonably painless and pretty certain process.
Bob clearly advised what was required to get my patent approved and then made sure it happened correctly on the first application. If what you proposed for your patent application was not going to work he would tell you that straight out and go on to offer suggestions of strategists that would work for your application.”
“Bob Harter has filed well over two dozen patents for me over the past 20 plus years. My previous patent attorney retired due to health reasons and upon his departure, gave me five names for me to call for a replacement. I called and interviewed all five and thankfully, Bob Harter’s name was on that list.
It wasn’t long into that first phone interview that I realized this guy gets it. Bob knew nothing of the oil industry when we first talked, but clearly, he was a quick learner. He listened intently to what I was trying to convey and protect. He asked all the right questions, so I sent him the file of my invention. A few days later, Bob called back with more questions and after more phone calls and numerous emails back and forth, Bob filed the utility application on my behalf. That patent was issued by the USPTO and that was the beginning of our long and very fruitful relationship.
Bob always helps me in the process of thinking through the idea completely and objectively. He is forthcoming with his thoughts, meaning if he thinks the idea is not patentable, he tells me. His candor is priceless to any inventor. He is not out to earn a fee, but rather help develop and protect inventions where possible.
Bob is remarkably competent in his work. Any patent attorney will tell you: “The first line of defense on any patent infringement issue is to invalidate the original patent.” I saw that firsthand when a company that purchased several of my patents sued a competitor for infringement. The case was settled in the Federal courthouse in Marshall, Texas after a weeklong trial where Bob’s work came under the most rigorous of scrutinies by the defense experts and attorneys. Those people picked Bob’s every word apart, but in the end, Bob's work was solid. It held strong, and we prevailed in the case.
Bob Harter is above all, an honest man. He is thorough and he is fun to work with. I have recommended him to several of my friends over the years and have no problems recommending Bob Harter to any inventor.”
“I found Bob Harter from the list on the USPTO website. He has now done several patent applications for me and he keeps up to date with the filing dates and maintenance fee dates.
He also understands PTO examiners and gives me lots of good tips on how the examiner may or may not perceive something. Bob knows how to write the application's claims to be broad but yet practical enough to get allowed. He understands the application process very well and advises me along the way.
Also his drawings are exceptional. He does all his own drawings, which make a much stronger application because they sync with and depict the description much better than an artist's sketch.
I do my own searching of prior art. But then Bob does it again and I like that. He always catches things I overlooked. He reviews those things as if he were the examiner, so the application has a much better chance of getting allowed.
Plus he is a really nice guy, honest, very reasonable, and a family man who is a good dad and husband. I like doing business with a family. I highly recommend Bob Harter to do your patent application as he's done so well with mine.”
"It was a pleasure working with Bob to develop my patent application and get it filed with the USPTO. It's not every day you find someone with such a depth of knowledge and an engineering background that can take poorly-explained ideas and turn them into both drawings and narratives that accurately capture your design concepts. I highly recommend Bob to any inventor who hopes to protect their designs before bringing them to market."
“Bob is a pleasure to work with and a talented patent professional, and I always had confidence in his dedication and the quality of his work.”
“As a result of Bob’s brilliance, experience and creative thinking, we were able to receive a utility patent for a tool used in creating torch-fired enamel jewelry. Bob kept us informed throughout the entire patent process, which helped to relieve any stress we were feeling. The patented bead-pulling station was featured in “Torch-Fired Enamel Jewelry: a Workshop in Painting with Fire,” named Amazon’s Best Craft Book of 2011. Thank you, Bob!”
“Bob Harter has successfully walked us through two technical patents and one technical patent that is pending. He has a wonderful ability to translate technical details into patent language and a great understanding about the process.”
“I've had the privilege of working with Bob Harter many times. I guess that's somewhat unavoidable seeing as I am his daughter. You might guess that I am partial to my dad, and you would be correct; however, let me assure you that while my opinion is biased, it is also accurate. I have held a number of jobs, including registered nurse positions at two different hospitals, and worked with a lot of different people - and none of them holds a candle to my dad in terms of work ethic or the passion that they put into something that interests them.
I still remember the day when I called my dad, very frustrated. I was a new mom, having the worst possible time trying to breastfeed my baby after a rough delivery. After a lot of failure, I had decided to elect to exclusively pump which was no small endeavor. To make matters worse, whenever I would reach over to soothe my wailing child while I was pumping, I would lose some precious milk, clog my machine and add more work to the already 3 plus hours I was putting in everyday trying to pump milk. My dad said, "all you need for an invention is a problem" and he set to work. And he fixed it.
If you work with him, you will be blessed by the experience and incredibly pleased by the results.”
